No, but we do require that you have previously obtained a medical, obstetric diagnostic ultrasound with your OB/GYN before using our services to assess the gestational age of the fetus and to evaluate you for fetal anomalies, as well as, the basic components of fetal anatomy. We recommend anywhere around 20 weeks for full baby viewing and 27-34 weeks and 30-35 week for full figured moms for facial imaging.
We prefer a full bladder for 14 week Gender Determination. It is not necessary for later term, but we do prefer you to be well hydrated in the days or weeks before your appointment. A healthy diet and proper hydration can play a major role in imaging quality.
We will always honor a second 10 minute visit within two weeks free of charge if the gestational stage allows.
Absolutely! Prenatal ultrasound is now the standard diagnostic examination. Extensive studies over 40 years have found that ultrasound has not been shown to cause any maternal or fetal harm. Routine diagnostic scanning of all pregnancies is now a normal procedure. If complications are present, you will typically receive additional ultrasounds above the norm.
We can determine your baby’s Gender as soon as 14+ weeks by ultrasound. We can also provide a peace of mind ultrasound at 8+ weeks. 20 weeks for full body viewing and 30 weeks for facial imaging.
While we are not a medical facility, our ultrasound technologists are fully trained and very experienced. Our ultrasound procedure guidelines strictly adhere to the most current prenatal obstetric guidelines (ALARA) to assure not only a safe examination, but also an amazing view into your womb. The ultrasound services we provide are purely for entertainment purposes and cannot be used in place of a diagnostic ultrasound. Only your doctor can provide diagnostic data.
